Chair’s Message
The CRCF is looking forward to the 2024-2025 year. The board has been transitioning from a working board to a governance board over the past 3 years and now it ready to take full advantage of the changes. With Executive Director Michaela Arruda steering the ship we have beginning to have a greater impact on the not for profit and volunteer sector. Our Hub for philanthropy goal is becoming a reality as we roll out more programs that assist other organizations and give out more grants.
In September 2024 we held a second governance workshop led by Colin Sauer which was well received by those that attended. Feed back was that everyone benefited from the session and learned useful skills. As the year progresses there will be more learning opportunities for the community.
In October we will release our 2024 Vital signs report. This report measures the pulse of the community, the good and where we can improve. It also points out with facts and charts where the greatest needs are. It’s a fascinating report and is very unique in its perspective and is a report that is of real value to the entire community. Business, government, and support organizations can all use the data to plan and be more effective.
We held the second annual “Swing for Charity” Golf Tournament, and it was a huge success. We raised funds, we raised the profile of the CRCF, and most importantly a couple of hundred people had a blast. Weather was warm with low wind.
We have some new directors and encourage you to check us all out on our website. Here you will find all the latest information about our programs, how to apply for grants and what we are up to. We are sure you will find something useful and of interest.
We are your Community Foundation, committed to enriching and bettering life for all our citizens. We encourage you to join us in our quest and help the many organizations and charities that make this such a special place to live.
