Call For Board Treasurer and Volunteers!

The Campbell River Community Foundation seeks a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors at the 2024 AGM. The Foundation is a governance board with staff to carry out its operations. The Treasurer oversees the financial affairs of the Foundation and reports to the board on financial statements while maintaining guidelines on the CRA rules regarding policies. If you are looking for a unique leadership opportunity in Campbell River where you can put your talents in strategic thinking, financial forecasting, and driving community change, to work, we are looking for you!
The commitment:
– Six in-person board meetings per year held in the evening on an agreed-upon weeknight, set at the year’s first meeting. Board members must be willing to read the board package before the meeting to support efficient discussion and decision-making at the board table. Meetings are in July, September, November, January, March, and May.
– Additional meetings if you join our Governance Committee, which meets 5 times in the off months of board meetings (no August).
– Availability to efficiently review and approve financial transactions in online banking and the financial management program (Foundant) at various times each month. Note that some months are busier than others, but the staff set up all transactions for the treasurer to review and approve.
– Confidence with computers and Microsoft 365.
– An interest in learning about and advocating for the community.
– A willingness to help grow and evolve the Community Foundation with its pursuit to enrich life in Campbell River.
– Experience in working with a governance board.
