To be eligible for a Community Grant, projects must be based within the boundaries of School District 72.

Please note that your organization must be a federally registered charity to apply. Registered charities can also apply as a fiscal host for a non-profit society. ​Eligibility criteria is outlined on our website.

Eligibility

The Campbell River Community Foundation is committed to creating a healthy and vibrant community.

We engage our donors and area non-profits to create opportunities for all citizens to experience a high quality of life. Since 1997, the Campbell River Community Foundation has awarded over a million dollars in grants to a wide range of registered charities committed to building a better Campbell River.

Our Community Grants are made possible through the generosity of community-minded donors. We work closely with our donors to connect them with causes that matter in a variety of areas. Please review the information provided to determine if your organization and initiative meet our criteria for granting.

Your organization must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for a Community Grant:

– The organization must be located in the Community Foundation’s service area, which is within School District #72’s (Campbell River and Area) boundaries.
– Provide all information requested according to the Grant Making Guidelines.
– Provide a benefit to the citizens of the geographic area served by the Foundation.
– The organization receiving the funds must be a CRA Registered Charity and the charity number must be included in the application.  *A registered charity may apply in partnership with a non-profit organization wishing to accomplish a project or initiative that meets project eligibility criteria.
– Projects must align with one or more of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s). For more information about the SDG’s please click HERE.
– Applicants must demonstrate fiscal responsibility and effective management.

Community Grants are for projects and programs for:

– Education, training, and capacity building workshops and professional development sessions
– Capital acquisitions
– Equipment, furniture and technology
– Renovations and building upgrades
– Direct services to the community
– Benefit a wide audience
– Contribute to the betterment of the community
– Involve collaboration and partnerships
– Build on existing community strengths and needs
– Use resources efficiently and effectively

We do not fund projects and programs for:

– Individuals or businesses
– Deficits or project expenses incurred prior to the application being approved
– Fundraising activities
– Endowments
– Religious or political activities
