🎲🏌️‍♀️⛳RULES OF PLAY!⛳🏌️‍♂️🎲

Get ready to roll the dice and hit the links for a great cause! This is a 4-person team scramble where strategy and teamwork are key to sinking those putts. Each team will work together to achieve the lowest possible score on each hole.

🃏How to Play the Scramble 🃏

All four players on your team will tee off on every hole. After everyone’s taken their shot, your team will collectively decide which ball is in the best position. This chosen spot is where all four players will play their next shot.

Through the Green (Fairway, Rough, etc.):Players must place their ball within one club length of the selected spot, no closer to the hole. Your ball must stay in the same general area (e.g., if the best shot is in the rough, all balls play from the rough; if in the fairway, all from the fairway). You may improve your lie, but not the general condition (so no moving from the rough to the fairway!).

In a Hazard (Bunker, Penalty Area):If the chosen ball lands in a bunker or a marked penalty area (water hazard), get ready to get sandy or wet! All players must play their next shot from that hazard. You can rake/smooth the sand around your ball if you’re in a bunker, but you can’t significantly improve your lie. There’s no relief from unplayable lies in hazards for the other players – what happens in the hazard, stays in the hazard!

On the Putting Green: Once on the green, the chosen ball’s position is marked. All players then putt from within one putter head length of the marked spot, no closer to the hole.

This exciting process of choosing the best shot and playing from that spot continues until the ball is holed. 🎯 Only one score per hole is recorded for the team. This is the collective number of strokes taken by the team using the best ball approach.

✨Important Rule: Share the Glory! ✨

Each player on the team must have a minimum of 2 of their tee shots selected and used during the 18-hole round. Teams, you must track this on your scorecard – don’t forget!

🍀Mulligans: Your Second Chance! 🍀

Feeling unlucky? Mulligans are available for $20 each, with a limit of 1 per player. A Mulligan allows a player to re-hit a shot without penalty. It can be used anywhere on the course except on the green (no mulligans on putts). Once a mulligan is declared, the original shot is void, and the re-hit shot must be played, even if it’s worse. Gamble wisely!

🤝General Rules & Sportsmanship🤝

• Please maintain a good pace of play to ensure everyone enjoys their round. Keep up with the group in front of you.
• In the event of a tie for the low score, ties will be broken with a chipping contest.
• Standard golf course rules apply where not superseded by these tournament rules.
• Please respect the course and fellow golfers.
• This is a charity event, and we rely on the honesty and sportsmanship of all participants. Let’s make it a fantastic day for everyone!

💰How a Blind Auction Works🎲

In a Blind Auction, you place your bet without knowing what anyone else has offered. 💸 This means you need to decide the maximum amount an item is truly worth to you and place your single, best, secret bet. 💯 The highest “better” wins! 🏆

✍️Fill Out Your Bet Slip✍️

• #️⃣Write the Item Number you are betting on.
• 👤Write your Name.
• 📞🏆Write your Phone Number (this is crucial so we can contact you if you win!).
• 💲🤫Write your SECRET BID Amount.

🌟Important: Your bet should be for the entire amount you are willing to pay for the item. 🤑 There are no incremental bids like in a silent auction. This is your single best offer! 🌟

• 🔒Fold your bid slip in half to keep your bid secret.
• 👀No Peeking! The integrity of the Blind Auction relies on all bids remaining secret until the close of the auction. Do not try to view other bids.🚫
• 🔔The Blind Auction will officially close at 8:30 PM. A final announcement will be made.📣

🎉Winning Bids & Payment🎉

• ✅Our volunteers will identify the highest bid for each item.
• 🥳Winners will be notified shortly after the bids are tallied. You may be contacted by phone or announced publicly. We will do our best to sort the “bets” and identify the winners on site so you can leave with your item.
• 💳Payment for won items will be accepted at the Patio Party, or, if necessary, payment can be processed during the week following The Gambler Scrambler. We accept cash, credit card, and e-transfer to donations@crfoundation.ca.
• 📝REMEMBER! The Campbell River Community Foundation is a Registered Charity! That means that if you bid OVER the value on an item, we provide you with a charitable tax receipt for the difference in value! If you see something you really love, not only do you get your item, you also get a tax receipt, AND you get the priceless feeling of supporting your community! That’s a triple win!
• 🛍️ All sales are final. Items must be paid for and picked up by the winner. Winners who are absent will be invoiced and contacted after the event. All items must be picked up by July 24th.
