Celebrating Generosity: The Legacy Wall at Robert Ostler Park

A permanent, interactive landmark tribute honoring the individuals, families, and businesses whose named endowment funds support Campbell River today, tomorrow, and forever.
The Campbell River Community Foundation is proud to announce the grand unveiling of The Legacy Wall, a stunning permanent monument situated along the waterfront in Robert V. Ostler Park.
Designed as a living testament to local generosity, The Legacy Wall features plaques dedicated to all of the Foundation’s named endowment funds. Built with an innovative, dynamic layout, the wall allows donor plaques to be thoughtfully relocated as their funds grow and move into higher tiers of giving over time—ensuring the monument actively reflects the evolving, lifelong journey of philanthropy in Campbell River.
“The Legacy Wall is more than a monument; it is a visual representation of what happens when a community comes together with heart and shared purpose,” says Michaela Arruda, Executive Director. “Every named fund on this wall represents a unique story of care for our region. Because named endowment funds are held in perpetuity, these donor legacies will continue generating community grants forever.”
To date, the Campbell River Community Foundation has facilitated over $1.8 million back into local charitable organizations, supporting art, culture, education, youth, health, and environmental initiatives. The Legacy Wall stands to honor these foundational contributions and inspire future generations to invest in the place they call home.

Unveiling of The Legacy Wall
Donors, development partners, local charities, and civic leaders joined the Foundation for the official grand opening of the Legacy Wall on July 15th. Thank you to DJ Saskatoon Tod for providing music and sound equipment, Bluetree Photography for helping us document our day and taking photos of Fundholders with their plaques, and Stonehouse Teas for delicious refreshments and treats.
Visit The Legacy Wall
The Legacy Wall is located at the North end of the public parking lot at Robert Ostler Park. The Legacy Wall is fully accessible with wheelchair parking and a ramp up to the sidewalk. The wall is found along the lovely gardens with a walkway around the full perimeter of the wall.
How to Get Involved
Individuals, families, and businesses interested in establishing a legacy in Campbell River can establish a named endowment fund starting at $5,000 to be permanently recognized as a “Believer” on the Legacy Wall. Contributions of any size are also welcomed toward the general Community Fund.
